Climate change is caused by the accumulation of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, primarily from burning fossil fuels. The economy and the environment are deeply interconnected, and economic systems play a significant role in driving climate change.
To address this issue, the EU Tech Chamber (EUTECH) Climate Action Alliance organised a webinar on March 15, 2023. The topic under discussion was, “Behind the Global Climate Change – Transformation of Economy”.
The webinar started off with a brief overview of the organization and a formal introduction of the panelists by our moderator, Mr. Alessandro Sharma, who is the coordinator of the Climate Action Alliance.
The keynote speaker for today’s webinar was Ms. Ioana Petcu, Climate Change Advisor, Energy & Climate Policy at Eurelectric. The other two worthy panelists who joined our webinar were Ms. Claire Benson, Founder & Director of SDG Changemakers, and Mr. Rajeshwar Bachu, Founder of Zero-Carbon, and Co-Founder of 42hacks.
During the webinar, the speakers covered the following important topics: meeting Europe’s future critical raw material requirements, increasing the use of clean power and renewables, and decreasing reliance on imported fossil fuels. Additionally, they discussed maximizing the use of Europe’s domestic electricity sources.
Moreover, the panelists discussed the role of policy, business, and technology in catalyzing this transformation and the challenges and opportunities of building a resilient, sustainable future.
We want to thank our speakers for their informed insights on this much-needed topic. Moreover, special thanks to Mr. Alessandro Sharma for moderating the webinar and distributing Tree-Certificates to the panelists.
Above all, sincere thanks to all our attendees – your comments, compliments, and questions. Stay tuned for our next Climate Action Alliance webinar on April 12, 2023, at 9:00 am (CET), about “Solving Climate-Driven Humanitarian Crisis”.
