One more very perceptive and pleasant webinar was held by the EU Tech Chamber Digital Transformation Alliance on Sep 22, 2022. The topic of this digital talk was, “Embracing Equality: Digital Transformation and Gender”
Nedzad Piric, MBA, Ph.D candidate – Director Digital Transformation was the moderator of this webinar. He welcomed the two distinguished speakers: Nadine Soyez and Marilyn Zakhour and introduced EUTECH’s mission and services.
Nadine and Marilyn shared their valuable insights on the topic and answered many interesting questions asked by the moderator and attendees of this webinar.
The speakers voiced their understanding and emphasized; the world requires an internet that is secure, inexpensive, and welcoming, one that doesn’t reinforce negative gender stereotypes, stifle the voices of women, or jeopardize their safety and rights. Digital tools are also required to increase women’s leadership and engagement in the digital sphere.
They added that the enormous potential of the digital revolution to enhance social and economic results for women. However, there is also a chance that it will reinforce current patterns of gender inequity. Despite numerous substantial initiatives, there is still a sizable gender gap in the digital world, which prevents high-, low-, and middle-income countries from equally reaping the rewards of the digital transformation.
Endorsed by The EU Tech Chamber and the Digital Transformation Alliance, this Digital Talk intended to voice that it is not enough for women and girls to simply have access to technology and digital skills; they must also become active agents of change to create a safer and equitable digital future for all.
