From carbon credits trading to sustainable supply chain management, blockchain is proving to be a powerful tool for promoting sustainability and reducing the ecological footprint of various industries.
To know more about the topic, the EU Tech Chamber (EUTECH) Environment Alliance organized a webinar on February 03, 2023. The topic under discussion was, “Blockchain Role in the Environmental Crisis”.
The webinar started off with a short overview of the organization and a formal introduction of the panelists by our moderator, Mr. Salvatore Cavallaro who is the coordinator of the Environment Alliance.
The first panelist for today’s webinar was Mr. Raphael Schranz, Circular Economy Expert, Blockchain Investor, Educator and Researcher. Next, we had Mr. Olinga Taeed, Expert Advisor to the Chinese Ministry of Commerce’s ‘China E-Commerce Blockchain Committee’. Our third speaker was Ms. Irena Rezec, Strategic Consultant, NFT & DLT Talent, Founder & CEO of WOTRA.
While addressing the webinar, the speakers discussed the significance of blockchain technology in addressing environmental challenges and mitigating the effects of the environmental crisis. By leveraging the decentralized and secure nature of blockchain, various initiatives can be implemented to track and verify the sustainability of various products, supply chains, and operations.
Overall, while blockchain alone cannot solve the environmental crisis, it can be a valuable tool in promoting sustainability and mitigating the effects of environmental challenges.
We want to thank our respectable speakers for their informed insights on this much-needed topic. Moreover, special thanks to Mr. Salvatore Cavallaro for moderating the webinar and distributing Tree-Certificates to the panelists.
Above all, sincere thanks to all our attendees – your comments, compliments, and questions. Stay tuned for our next Environment Alliance webinar on March 10, 2023, about “Climate Resilience: Companies and Governments Response”.
