The main responsibilities of the travel industry for sustainability include protecting the environment, natural resources, and wildlife. Providing socio-economic benefits for communities who live in tourist destinations. Conserving cultural heritage and creating authentic tourist experiences.
To understand that how we can improve sustainability in the travel industry, the EUTECH Environment Alliance held one more successful webinar with panel of experts on January 13. The topic of this webinar was “Sustainability in the Travel Industry.”
The webinar was expertly moderated by Salvatore Cavallaro, EUTECH Coordinator, who also warmly welcomed the participants.
The speakers of the webinar spoke about this topic from their own personal viewpoints and addressed questions from the audience.
They discussed how individual decisions made before and after a trip might reduce CO2 emissions from aviation travel. Additionally, travel industries put aside a portion of their offset sales for green initiatives like reforestation or the use of renewable energy.
All the speakers agreed that the travel industry has a responsibility to help the same communities it profits from. The sector also needs to accept that green business practices will be the next major competitive advantage for brands selling to consumers and business travelers alike.
We sincerely appreciate our speakers, Marcello Notarianni, Paolo Lonati, Sara King, Cristina Chimenti and Alessandro Colosimo, for sharing their valuable thoughts with our audience. On this occasion Salvatore Cavallaro, presented all the respected speakers with Tree Certificates.
We are very appreciative of the feedback, questions, and engagement from our viewers.
