The advent of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Industry 4.0 has revolutionized the way we perceive and interact with technology. Connected devices have become an integral part of our daily lives and are transforming industries across the board.

To know more about this, the EU Tech Chamber (EUTECH) Internet of Things (IoT) Alliance organized a webinar on June 23, 2023. The topic under discussion was, “IoT and Industry 4.0: The Role of Connected Devices”.
The webinar started off with a short overview of the organization and a formal introduction of the panelists by Uzair Maqbool (Senior Lead Civil Structural Engineer) who is the coordinator of the IoT Alliance.

The speakers for today’s event were Riaan Rautenbach, CEO & Founder at Live FR8, and Ikechi Agbugba, PhD Agbugba, Global Mentor of Change, Brain Re-Engineering Advocator.

During the webinar, the speakers discussed the overview of Cloud technology. They highlighted that Cloud Computing enables storing data and programs on the Internet instead of local hard disks, offering a cost-effective and efficient solution compared to the time-consuming and expensive physical infrastructure requirements.

Moreover, the speakers delved into the topic of IoT and Industry 4.0, highlighting the significant role of connected devices in revolutionizing the agriculture sector. They emphasized how these technological advancements are driving transformative changes, enhancing productivity, sustainability, and efficiency in farming practices. This integration in agriculture is reshaping the way we cultivate, enabling a more connected, intelligent, and sustainable farming ecosystem.
